We were asked to specify, install and commission two pumping stations to pump foul and surface/ground water from each of three new houses – a total of six pumping stations. Each surface/ground water pumping station would be supplied with an automatic battery backup system. Following commissioning, we were asked to attend a handover meeting with the planning authorities.
METHOD
• We carried out a site survey to ensure installation would proceed seamlessly and to specify suitable pumps.
• We monitored the construction of the concrete sumps during each phase of the build to ensure all discharge pipework, cable ducts and vents were installed correctly.
• We installed six pump sets and wired everything back to the control panels using cable extensions installed by the client.
• We carried out full wet test and commissioning for each set.
RESULT
• By liaising with the main contractor throughout the work, we facilitated a simpler and more cost effective installation.
• Installation was completed efficiently over a continuous nine day period.
• Cable extensions were routed via the ceiling very early in the construction phase so that the pumps could be installed close to the handover period.
• Each control panel is capable of connecting to either our own telemetric diallers (optional) or the owner’s BMS system. This allows for on-site and off-site monitoring. Additionally, each pumping station has a battery backup high level alarm in case of power failure.
